Casa Fungi is located on the mountains from Ecovilla, San Mateo surrounded by jungle, the project is projected with a view towards the West. The different heights of the facades give the name of this beautiful mushroom-shaped house as the upper level is larger. The project is born in the highest part of the property, where we find the main access to the house as well as the parking spaces. With a key location on the lot and with a green wall, parasols and planters that protect it from the sunlight. The main house is fragmented into two floors with a dynamic internal interaction between levels that seeks to create a strong connection between users and the surrounding natural beauty. The upper floor has social spaces that offer remarkable views to the west and at sunset. The openings seek to generate spaciousness and ventilation and at the same time create a natural connection between the spaces, generating biophilic spaces that cool the house naturally. The front terrace that connects directly to the pool on the side and the private area offers a spectacular view towards the rest of the gardens and the mountains. The height and scale of the spaces provides a feeling of spaciousness and thermal comfort within the rooms and reduces energy consumption through plenty of ventilation and natural lighting. The shape of the upper terrace frames the view towards the forest, with large openings that blur the boundaries between inside and outside and encourage appreciation of the natural world around you. Uniting natural materials like teak and laurel wood with modern counterparts such as concrete, steel, and glass became a cornerstone of this beautiful project. Higher up on the site, we find the guest house with its own full bathroom, closet area, social area, kitchen and terrace. This private space is perfect for rest, relaxation and meditation, bringing nature into the built environment.
